ELoF is a Membership organisation; the members (of which there are currently 22) elect the unpaid Directors at the Annual General Meeting. Membership is open to anyone, with certain minor restrictions, who lives in the area served.
The Board of Directors, in consultation with the Members, determines ELoF's strategic direction; the Manager (a salaried staff member) is responsible for the organisation's day-to-day running and decision-making, and acts in an advisory capacity to the Board.
Voluntary and paid staff are supported by a line-management process, with individual and/or group supervision and annual appraisals.
