Established in 1987, Estuary League of Friends undertakes a range of community and personalised services and wants clients to be assured of receiving safe, secure and appropriate treatment at all times.
Our staff and volunteers all undergo induction training when they arrive and must pass police Criminal Record Bureau checks. They are then trained specifically in the activities they supervise and undertake, must attend regular health and safety courses, and are periodically assessed to ensure they maintain high standards.
We have recently adopted a Business Plan establishing benchmark services now and setting goals for the future; we also have a Business Continuity Plan to ensure the charity can function in the event of any emergency.
We work closely with our care partners who also insist on high minimum standards: Devon County Council, NHS Devon, Attend UK, Skills for Health, Devon Carers Link and the Department of Health.
We have instructed local solicitors and accountant to ensure that our activities conform with Charity Commission guidelines, and we work closely with local businesses in our area.
We have a full range of policies designed to protect all those who come into contact with the charity through good practice and adherence to the law.
